Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning for Face

I put this fake tan on my face every few days and it makes such a difference to my whole appearance. It adds a natural glow and tint to my skin- definitely not making it orange!

It works with your natural skin tone to create a customised colour, that’s a bit darker than your natural one but it’s very subtle, making you look really healthy. You can apply it more often to build up a tan; for instance I personally apply it every 2-3 days, but if you applied it every day then obviously it would make your skin darker- which is good in summer.

It goes on really well, there’s never any streaks or patches, it blends into your skin nicely. Also, it doesn’t smell really dodgey - which is always a bonus! It’s not too greasy- some face fake tans encourage spot break outs, but this one never has. At the same time it doesn’t dry your skin out either.

I put it on after my moisturiser, and if I’m going out it works fine with makeup over the top, it doesn’t smudge it as it’s quite quick to dry.

This is definitely the best fake tan for the face that I have ever had- I strongly recommend it!!

No. 7 'Lash and Brow Perfector'

I tried this ‘Lash and Brow Perfector’ to put on my eyebrows in order to keep them in place all day and for them to look tidy and combed. I was sadly let down.

It’s very thin and runny, so my eyebrows just felt wet after putting it on, and because of this they didn’t stay in place- one even went a bit curly!! Furthermore, when it dried it didn’t set the eyebrows like other gels do; they didn’t feel hard and could easily be moved out of place.

I did try it out as a clear mascara as well, and it did make my lashes look better initially, but again it didn't stay in place long- I think it’s lacking a strong hold that you need in a gel like this.

Especially for the price you pay, I’m very disappointed in this product and will be looking for another eyebrow gel that does what it is supposed to! It is just too runny and has no hold or staying power, so does not have much effect on either your eyebrows or your lashes.

I will keep you posted on my mission to find a good eyebrow gel! Does anybody have any recommendations? Has anybody else tried the No 7 'Lash and Brow Perfector'? What did you think?

Fish Defining Spray Wax

On my last visit, my hairdresser recommended I use a wax spray for my hair. It’s much better than hard clay wax as it doesn’t make your hair sticky or clumpy in places. This Fish one smells really nice, like coconut, but it’s not overpowering.

It helps to style your hair really well, adding a lot of texture and volume. It keeps your hair in place, although I usually add a touch of hairspray over the top just to ensure this. I’d definitely recommend it as an alternative to clay wax for a more natural and textured hair style.

The downsides to this product are that if you put too much in, it can make your hair look greasey (I tend to not put much on my roots for this reason). It does not last all day without a top up either.

So, all in all, I would say this Fish wax is ok, it smells lovely and works for a little while, but I probably will not be purchasing it again.

Has anyone else tried any spray waxes? Any recommendations?

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Without Any Mascara
With Clinique High Impact Mascara

I like this mascara, it's great for during the day, not as costly as other higher end mascaras and it certainly makes a big difference, emphasising my lashes.

You can see from the pictures what my eye looks like without any mascara on, and then with the Clinique High Impact mascara on. The mascara makes my lashes stand out, thickening them and making them look much more bold. It groups the lashes together as oppose to separating them like some other mascaras. It goes on easily, stays on all day and doesn’t sting my eyes at all.

I like the mascara but it's not the best mascara I've ever tried. It’s good for a day look but I would prefer a more bold, even “higher impact” one for a night out. All in all, I would buy this mascara again, but mainly to wear during the day, but I’d want a more dramatic look for a night out.

What do you think? Does anyone else use this mascara?

L'Occitane Lavande Hand Purifying Gel 50ml

I must confess I have a touch of OCD- I really hate germs, and I have to have clean hands all the time, especially before I eat. As a result I’ve always carried antibacterial hand gel around with me in my handbag and use it several times a day. Because of this, my hands are often quite dry and usually smell of sanitiser! Two things that I wish could be avoided!

My mum bought me this as L’Occitane antibacterial hand gel as a little Birthday present. It smells of lavender-not that dodgy sanitised alcohol smell (hooray!) which is much nicer for me and the people around me. Best of all, however, is that it still gets rid of all germs and it doesn’t dry my hands out like others do!

The only negative thing I can say about this is that it does come out slightly clumpy. This is not a huge problem as it rubs in fine, but I would prefer it to be a bit smoother.

So, it is a little luxury as it is more expensive than a standard antibacterial hand gel but it’s lovely to put on- especially if you use it as much as I do! It lasts ages too, so for me, I think it’s definitely worth it.

Price: £6.50 (Available in Debenhams or L’Occitane shops)

Johnson’s 24 hour Moisture Radiance Hand Cream

If you’re like me and get really dry and occasionally chapped hands in winter, this hand cream is an essential item for your handbag.

First of all, it smells gorgeous- that distinct shea butter, cocoa smell. Most importantly, it moisturises your hands really well and stays on for quite a while, even after washing my hands they still are in better condition than before I put the cream on.  It’s not greasy or oily and sinks into your skin really quickly.

It’s a great price for the quality you get- only £2.09 and it lasts ages!
