Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Venus and Faint

Venus and Faint
Since I got my Urban Decay Naked palette last year, I’ve used it practically every single day, so I thought I’d give the Naked Basics palette a go as it looks much more suited to everyday wear and it would mean that I could save my Naked palette for nights out (review of Naked palette here).

The main difference between this palette and Urban Decay’s Naked and Naked 2 palettes are that the Naked Basics one consists of matte shades instead of metallic based ones.

It’s a really cute little palette and will be perfect for travelling/ taking away. Like, I said, I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay’s other eye shadows, I know that they always stay on long and the colours are always quite dramatic (even the more neutral shades!).There's every shade that you could ever need in this little palette- ranging from the very smokey eye to the light and natural :) The very essential colours are included, and they will look good on everybody, on any skin tone.

I used Venus (first picture) and then added Faint (second picture). Venus, Foxy and W.O.S (Walk of Shame) are great, neautral shades for the day and can be used as a base, whereas the other three (Naked 2, Faint and Crave) are great for adding over the top to make a more dramatic look.

The down side: You do not get a eye shadow brush with this palette like the other two Naked palettes, or an eye shadow primer potion. But as it is £15 less than those (with a few less shades in as well) I do not mind this, as I have a spare brush and they can be bought quite cheaply. I would recommend investing in Urban Decay's eye shadow primer potion (full review here) as it makes a huge difference- my eye shadow stays on all day and night with it and it never creases.

I really really like the Naked Basics palette- as much as I do my other Naked palette (and that’s saying a lot!). I would definitely recommend getting it- 100%- as you can make so many different looks with it, the colours suit everyone, AND they last ages on your lids!

Has anyone else got this palette? Is anyone else a fan of Urban Decay's Naked palettes?

Price: £20 (Available at Debenhams and House of Fraser)
