OOTD: Matchy Matchy

Top: Missi*
Skirt: Missi*
Jacket: Firetrap
Shoes: New Look

I love the current matching trend, especially with midi skirts and crop tops. This outfit is perfect for a night out; the style is sophisticated but the print is fun and bold. I am a big fan of the aztec print and will be buying many more items with it on- especially bags and jackets! As the aztec print is quite vibrant, a simple leather jacket finishes the outfit off and adds that little touch of cool. The heels are also understated, complementing the off-white colour in the aztec print.

Missi is a wholesalers based in Manchester that supplies clothes to independent stores and boutiques across the world. If you want to find out more about them then their Twitter is @missiclothinguk. I really love the top and skirt that Missi sent me and will be keeping an eye out for their clothes in the future :)

What do you think? Is anyone else loving aztec prints? What do you think of the matching trend?

South Beach Blog Party

My outfit:
Top: Mango
Necklace: Vintage
Boots: Topshop

I love going to blogger events and meet-ups so was very excited to receive an invitation to the South Beach Blogger Party at Frurt, the frozen yoghurt bar in Spinningfields, Manchester. South Beach is a swimwear company based in Manchester, whose bikinis and swimming costumes are all very bright and summery. I hadn't heard of the brand before so it was nice to get an introduction and a preview of their stock.

On arrival we were handed a glass of prosecco or strawberry bellinis, which were absolutely gorgeous! The organisers were absolutely lovely and the event itself was very relaxed and friendly. We got to look at the current and next seasons swimwear range, and tag a product that we would like to win. Unfortunately I did not win the raffle, so did not win my chosen bikini (a lovely neon number) but we were all given nice goody bags when leaving, which was nice :)

The thing I love most about the blogger events is the chance to chat to other bloggers, all of which seem really nice and have very similar interests to me. I went along to the event with Victoria, one of my really good friends and we both delighted at the yummy drinks and food that was on offer. I spent most of the evening with Victoria, Clara, Amy, and Lily, all of which have fantastic blogs and are really lovely girls.

So, cheers to another great blogger event! I would like to say a big thank you to Katie and the others at South Beach for organising it and I look forward to attending many more events in the future.

Selfridges Beauty Box

I'm a big fan of beauty boxes as they feel like presents and are usually full of nice surprises. This Selfridges Limited Edition Beauty Box is by far the best one I have ever received. This box cost £25 but the contents are worth £70- an absolute bargain!

Here is what is in the box:
Aqua Splash Tangle Teezer,
Models Own Neon Nail Varnish,
Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray,
Molton Brown Blissful Templetree Shower Gel,
Caudalie Beauty Elixir,
St. Tropez Instant Glow Face Lotion,
Jane Tran Hair Clips,
Erborian BB Cream,
Lancaster After Sun.

I am most excited about the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray which I've had on my wish list for aaages! Having short hair it seems like the perfect product to use to style it and I literally can't wait to try it! I'm also a big fan of Molten Brown and this shower gel smells gorgeous. I bought my mum some Molten Brown goodies for Christmas and have been jealous of her having them ever since so it's so nice to have my own! I'm also excited about trying the Caudalie Beauty Elixir having seen many great reviews of it on various beauty blogs. Finally, I can't get enough of neon at the moment so this Model's Own nail varnish is an absolute winner in my book!

I look forward to trying out all these items and reviewing them in the future. This box is limited edition and so will not be available for much longer, buy it now at

I just like to finish by saying a big thank you to my friend and fellow blogger Victoria for giving me a heads up about this box- after seeing her post on it I bought it straight away! :)

Has anyone else bought this limited edition beauty box? Does anyone want to buy it now? What do you think of the products in it?

OOTD: Get Shirty With Me....

Dress: Romwe
Vest: Next
Bag: Modalu
Boots: Topshop

You can't really go wrong with a classic shirt dress in my eyes. Casual enough to look like you've just thrown the outfit together stylishly yet effortlessly, but dressy enough to make you feel good and get noticed. I love how this particular shirt dress has a tie at the waist, making it really flattering. I bought it from, which is a really cute website that has lots of fashionable clothes (all inspired from the streets and lookbook) that are affordable and a little different. They offer free worldwide shipping which is a bonus, although it does take a few weeks to arrive, so order items well in advance if you need them for a certain occasion.

The bag is a Modalu one. Apart from my Mulberry, this is my favourite handbag. It oozes quality, the material and colour are unique, and it's big enough to fit everything in. All in all, it's a pleasure to have on my arm! The boots are my tried and tested, comfy Topshop wedges- great for when the outfit has to be practical as well as stylish (I had to walk to a bar 15 minutes away!).

What do you think? Is anyone else a fan of shirt dresses?

Soap and Glory Clean on Me Shower Gel

First of all, this shower gel smells amazing! One of the nicest shower gels I've ever smelt- EVER! It’s also quite a big bottle so it does last ages and I feel like I've got my money's worth.

A big plus about Clean on Me is that it contains body lotion. This means it is more creamy than sudsy so it doesn’t lather up as much. I don’t mind this, as it is thick enough so that it does not just run down the drain like cheap shower gels do, you can rub it in all over your body and it stretches quite far.

It does make my skin feel soft, although I do still need to use body lotion afterwards. It cleans my skin well without stripping it so it does not feel dry or tight when I'm dry. The only thing I wish is that the scent stayed on my skin longer, I can never smell it on me when I get out of the shower.

All in all, for the smell alone I will buy this again, but I think The Body Shop ones smell very nice too (especially the satsuma and the jasmine ones!) and feel slightly better quality.

Who else uses or has used this shower gel? What do you think about it?

Haul: A Bit of This and a Bit of That...

Crop Top: Quiz
Necklace: Miss Selfridge
Shoes: Dorothy Perkins
T-Shirt: Miss Selfridge
Ojon Conditioner
Cocoa Butter Formula Firming Butter
Nars Liquid Eyeliner
Clarins Fake Tan
Pearl Drops Teeth Whitening Gel
Bimble Fairtrade Organic Cane Sugar Natural Lip Scrub
Books: Sophie Kinsella 'I've Got Your Number' and Antoine Laurain 'The President's Hat'

These are some of the items that I've treated myself over the last month.

Quiz is not normally I shop I ever go in but this crop top caught my eye when I was passing the Quiz concession in Debenhams. I love the colour and the texture of the material- it's sort of neon speckled- very different and I look forward to teaming it with disco pants and high tops or a midi skirt.

I'm really into chunky necklaces at the moment and love this one from Miss Selfridge. I wore it the very same day I bought it and have hardly taken it off since! It goes with everything and adds a stylish touch to any plain top.

These high top trainers are gorgeous! I love the colour! I couldn't resist them when in Dorothy Perkins the other day. They look fab with leggings and are comfy too :)

This grey t-shirt from Miss Selfridge is a great addition to my wardrobe as it goes with everything and, although it's plain enough to team with statement trousers/ leggings/ skirts, the faux leather sleeves make it more interestng.

I've heard so many good things about Ojon hair products that I treated myself to this conditioner as a reward for completing some work. As I colour my hair regularly I want to show it a bit of TLC with this colour care conditioner. I will review it when I've been using it for a while :)

I'm sick of my cellulite and wobbly thighs so I've decided to do something about them in time for summer, starting with this firming lotion from Cocoa Butter Formula- I'll let you know how it goes!

Surprising as this may be, as I never leave the house without eyeliner on, I have never owned a liquid eyeliner! As a lover of Nars, I decided to give their brown liquid eyeliner a go as it has a pen end which looks easier to apply than a brush- they're on Asos for anyone that wants to buy them online. Again, review to follow.

I love Clarins's fake tans and this one smells gorgeous (like cocoa butter!) so decided to give it a go instead of my normal Clarins one.

These Pearl Drop teeth whitening gel caught my eye while I was in Boots the other day. You simply rub the gel on your teeth just before bed and they are supposed to get whiter. An interesting concept, I hope it works!

This lip scrub is only made from natural ingredients and was only £2.50- less than half the price of the Lush ones! It is mint chocolate chip flavour- gorgeous- and is from a small beauty company called Bimble based in Yorkshire that I came across at a craft fair a few weeks ago. I love organic products and the fact that it's fairtrade, tastes/ smells amazing and is cheap, is a huge bonus!

Finally, Sophie Kinsella's book 'I've Got your Number' is one that I've had saved in my Amazon basket for over a year now. It suddently dropped to only £2.85 the other day so I bought it immediately! I love Sophie Kinsella's books, they're always funny and light-hearted but gripping at the same time.

'The President's Hat' is a book that was recommended to me by my sister. It is about a man who dines at the next table to the president, who leaves his hat behind at the end of the meal. The man decides to take the hat and keep it for himself, however this is no ordinary hat, and his life begins to change as the hat works its magic!

Has anyone else been on any shopping sprees recently? What have you bought? Has anyone tried or got any of the items that I've bought?

Armani: Rouge d'Armani Lipstick

I'm only just getting into lipsticks- I've always used lipglosses in the past- and was after a really natural looking one for a wedding that I went to last month. After browsing in Selfridges and having a complimentary makeover at the Armani counter (I LOVE their Maestro foundation and their powder- but that's another post!) I couldn't resist buying this lipstick as it was so perfect for what I wanted and felt like a real treat!

The lipstick is a flattering, neutral colour that will suit anyone (It's Beige, Number 101). It simply makes you look like you have naturally gorgeous lips :) What really makes it worth its hefty price tag however, is how moisturising it is. I find that some lipsticks emphasise the lines or the chappedness of my lips. This one does the opposite; it makes my lips really smooth and soft-looking. It's also long lasting, something which you would expect if you're paying £25!

The packaging and the design of the bottle is really luxurious, the lid and the base have magnets in them and so it clicks into place easily- something which I love (so easily pleased I know but it's the simple things which add a touch of sophistication to this lipstick)! Honestly, I do think it’s worth the money, it is the best lipstick I have ever tried!

What do you think? Has anyone else tried Armani makeup- any favourite products? Also, does anyone have any recommendations for other lipsticks?

C/O Jay Cain - Signing the Doodle Wall

One of My Chosen Items
I was surprised at how many fashion/ girly items there were- not just sportswear!

Me with Gorgeous Bloggers Laura and Victoria

C/O Jay Cain - Megan and I having a very important conversation about which items to pick!

C/O Jay Cain - My Winning Outfit!
C/O Jay Cain - Victoria and I Took a LONG Time Deciding Which Items To Pick!
The Goodie Bag

Last week I went to the Get The Label Urban Party event for fashion bloggers. I had an absolutely brilliant time! It was so great to have an event so close to home in Manchester city centre, I went after uni with my lovely friend and fellow blogger Victoria. Get the Label is a company which I hadn't heard of before this event, it is a subsidiary of JD Sports, selling lots of brands ranging from Lipsy to Nike (not just sportswear, there were lots of girly dresses too!) at up to 75% off the usual price.

When we arrived we were given three labels to put on three items that we would like to keep. This was so hard for me- I’m not fantastic at making shopping decisions and usually end up buying them all, so to narrow down what I wanted to only three was nearly impossible- I spent a lot of time umm-ing and ahh-ing! I ended up going for a pair a of neon-salmon coloured Nike trainers, some beige suede Nike high-tops and a pair of grey suedette ankle boots (pictured above).

There was some gorgeous food as well as unlimited drinks including champagne and buck's fizz. We each had to do a 'Blog Brag' video, in which we talked about our blogs, that will be posted on the Get The Label website! It was quite scary doing it, I did ramble a bit! Then there was a 'Style the Model' competition where bloggers' created an outfit for a model to wear -and I won (I think that's the first time I've ever won anything before!!)! Which meant that I got to keep the outfit- so even more clothes for me! :)

The organisers were vey friendly and made it very relaxed, which created a really nice atmosphere. I met some absolutely lovely bloggers: the gorgeous Laura, Sindy, Laura L, and Megan in particular :) On leaving we each got a goodie bag which included a Barry M nail polish, sweets, a £30 gift voucher, bangles and a ring :)

All in all, I had a really great time and I look forward to going to any furture events by Get The Label. I was really impressed with some of their clothes and especially their shoes! I will definitely be looking on their website in the future!

OOTD: Lady In Red

Dress: ASOS
Necklace: Vintage
Shoes: New Look
Bag: Miss Selfridge

This week my boyfriend and I celebrated six years together. I wanted to wear something a little special to mark the occasion, and this dress from ASOS made me feel just that. The fit is so flattering, and the lace is so elegant, I really did feel a million dollars. It was also really comfy, which was a good job as the food was so gorgeous at Jamie's Italian- I certainly ate my fair share of it!

The dress is such a statement piece that it does not need much accessorising; a chunky necklace sufficed in sprucing up my bare neck, but not overpowering the outfit. The heels and the bag were also simple, making the overall outfit more chic and expensive-looking.

What do you think? Does anyone else love this style of dress?
