Review: Dermalogica Active Moist

Dermalogica is a company that I had not heard of until recently. It is an American company that specialises in skin care, and their products are made by specialist professional skin care therapists. Their products do not contain any cheap chemicals, and are all free of anything artificial. The prices reflect how good the products are for your skin, and, as you only get one face, I personally think it's really important to invest in it.

Dermalogica Active Moist won the Instyle Magazine award for best moisturiser for oily skin, and, as I was not 100% happy with other moisturisers that I’d tried, I thought I would give this one a go.

The down side to this product is the smell. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but it smells a bit like watered down TCP- a bit medicinal. I don't really mind this though, because it's not a smell that lasts on my skin, and I'm more bothered about how the product works than about what it smells like.

As I said earilier, it contains no artificial fragrances or colours, which really appeals to me; I prefer to put natural products on my skin. It's very light, it sinks in very quickly and doesn't make my face feel at all greasy. It really does make a huge difference to my oily/combination skin; it doesn't go shiny throughout the day now.

I use this in the morning for the day ahead, but I use a heavier (yet oil free moisturiser) at night as I think this one works better as a day moisturiser. I'm currently using Origins Night-a-Mins in the evenings, but it's only been a few weeks so it's too early to judge it yet!

I would definitely recommend Dermalogica Active Moist to anyone with oily skin, it really does make a difference and is 100% worth it's price tag. I will definitely be repurchasing it and I'm over the moon to have finally found a moisturiser that is kind to my skin, hydrates it but also combats the oil and shine effectively- hallelujah!

Price: £30 for 50 ml or £43 for 100ml available to buy here.

Has anyone else tried Dermalogica Active Moist?
What other products would you recommend for oily/combination skin?

Rosy x
