MAC Blusher in Fleur Power

I usually wear a natural-looking, subtle blusher but I fancied getting one that was a bit more dramatic to wear on night's out. Being the Queen of dramatic makeup, MAC was the obvious place to go.

MACs Fleur Power blusher is very pigmented and quite a vibrant pink, so I only need to put a little bit on to add a real pop of colour to my face. This means that the blusher is lasting absolutly ages as a small amount makes such a difference; definitely great value for money. It really makes a statement and I actually wear it during the day now, just not applying as much as I would do for an evening. I like that this blusher is so pigmented because that makes it very buildable; you can make the pink colour as bright or intense as you want. It also lasts a long time on your cheeks and does not really need topping up all day. So, it's safe to say I'm really loving this blusher at the moment!

What do you think about this MAC blusher? What is your favourite blusher?

OOTD: Tartan and Boots

Dress: Missbehaver.com
Jumper: Primark
Boots: All Saints

I'm loving the tartan trend! Red is my favourite colour anyway and to see so much of it in the shops this A/W is making me very happy! I think tartan looks great when it's made a bit grungey- and so to dress this pretty dress down I through this black jumper over the top and teamed it with my chunky All Saints boots. Comfy, warm and cool- what more could you want in an outfit?!

What do you think of my outfit? What do you think of the tartan trend?

Soap and Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick Matte in Super Nude

The first thing I noticed about his lipstick was the gorgeous scent. It is not sweet like other Soap and Glory products, but almost cocoa-buttery- it reminds me of the popcorn flavoured Jelly Belly Bean! The colour I tried is Super Nude and it is a very natural one, almost the same colour as my lips. It simply made my lips much fuller and thicker-looking. I generally have quite smokey or dramatic eye makeup so I like to keep my lips simple and subtle, so the colour was a hit with me. The lipstick glided on my lips smoothly and was quite moisturising; it contains moisturisng Orchid Extract, Vitamin E and a 3D Plump Peptide Complex to achieve these effects. The lipstick lasted over an hour on my lips before needing to be topped up.

Overall, this lipstick smelt and tasted gorgeous, while making my lips look fuller and nicer-looking in a very subtle way.

Has anyone else tried any Soap and Glory lipsticks? What do you think of them? Any other colour recommendations?

An Autumn Haul

These are some of the items that I have bought over the last month...

Beauty

Estee Lauder Day Wear Oil-Free Moisturiser and Perfectly Clear Cleanser
I've been really upset with my skin recently. I've suffered lots of break-outs over the last few months and it's really been getting me down. My mum and dad both swear by Estee Lauder's Day Wear moisturiser, saying that it prevents them from getting spots and really agrees with their skin. So, in the hope that genetics will save the day, I have decided to give these a whirl. I was lucky as there was a free gift when you bought two items at Debenhams- and what a great free gift it was! Reviews to follow :)

No 7 Brown Eyeliner
I've been buying No 7 eyeliners for about ten years now- always the brown and the black shades. They stay on all day without smudging and there's always great offers on in Boots- this time I had a £3 off voucher :)

Fashion

Warehouse Jumper, Primark Black Jumper and Primark White and Grey Contrast Sleeve Jumper
This white jumper from Warehouse caught my eye as I love the zips on the front. It has a pretty, yet very subtle, floral pattern on the front that makes it a little different. I've been looking for some plain jumpers to go over dresses and to wear with statement skirts and trousers this A/W, and these Primark ones fit the bill perfectly- and were an absolute bargain!

Primark Necklace
I couldn't resist this oil-spill chunky necklace- so unique and such a bargain, it'll look great teamed with all these plain jumpers I'm buying!

Primark Tops
I'm really impressed with Primark's A/W13 collection. The bright red and hot pink tops are a great way to inject a bit of colour into my wardrobe, and, as they are plain, they will go with most items. The basketball top was just too cool to resist!

What do you think of my purchases? What have you been buying recently?

OOTD: Pop and Bullets

Jumper: Massimo Dutti
Necklace: Lovebullets*
Leggings: American Apparel
Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell

Ah, Autumn is most definitely upon us. The change in the weather over the last two weeks has brought leggings and jumpers back to the forefront of my wardrobe, and a bid to stay warm, as well as look good, is dictating my current outfits. This textured knit from Massimo Dutti will certainly be making several appearances over the next few months.

A statement necklace is a great way to make a plain jumper a little more interesting. This necklace is part of the CRYSTALPOWER collection from LOVEBULLETS. Lovebullets is a London-based company that are intent on 'transforming symbols of destruction and violence into symbols of peace, love and beauty'- pretty cool huh?! They literally make jewellery out of bullets and cartridges! Their jewellery is so different, unique and just plain cool! The one that I am wearing is a CRYSTALPOWER one, whereby an Arkansa Quartz crystal has been attached to a polished brass bullet casing. The crystals are said to have healing powers and I love the juxtaposition of the deadly bullet with the healing crystal.

As the necklace is such an interesting feature, I kept my outfit as simple as possible, teaming my Massimo Dutti knit with my bright American Apparel leggings. I'm a big fan of American Apparel leggings as they fit so well and are really flattering- well worth the extra pennies in my opinion as they also last forever! Finally, my beloved Jeffrey Campbell suede Litas completed the outfit.

What do you think of my outfit? What are you wearing this A/W13?

NOTD: Nail's Inc Regent's Park

I love metallic nail polishes. As well as being right on trend at the moment, they are also flattering as they makes your skin look slightly more tanned. This one from Nail's Inc is really unusual. I couldn't work out whether it was silver, gold or bronze. Now that I have been wearing it for a few days I've decided that it is predominatly silver but if you look closely it has gold and bronze specks in it. This really gives the appearance of a metallic texture; I love it! It goes with everything and has lasted 4 days without chipping- very impressive considering how often I wash my hands!

What do you think? What nail varnishes are you loving at the moment?

London Fashion Week

I was lucky enough to get invited to the SS14 London Fashion Week at the weekend. The atmosphere around Somerset House was incredible. It was simply buzzing with fashionable people, everyone was excited and all the outfits on show were brilliant! I found it really inspiring that there was no dress code; everyone just wore what they wanted to wear, what they loved, and expressed their own unique sense of style. There was a large screen displaying all the catwalk shows for everyone to watch, press taking photos everywhere and music pumping out. To top it off, I received a plus-one ticket and got to experience it all with my best friend Jo, who you can see on the photos.

We were invited to the Fashion International Multi-Designer Shows, which showcase the up and coming fashion designers. We saw Gianni Lilliu, Dee Duce, House of Mobe, Luna Sky and Omar Mansoor.

Gianni Lilliu is a Sardinian designer who specialises in esquisitely tailored womenswear to suit and flatter the female form. The collection featured satin dresses and separates, dominated by blue, gold and black colours.

Dee Duce specialises in women's eveningwear and her designs are excllusively produced in the UK. The collection features silk, chiffon and lace gowns, all in in bright colours and often containing dramatic crystal  embellishments. The collection was dominated by bright pinks and oranges, and the models carried masks.

Luna Sky is a designer specialising in eveningwear, based in London. The collection featured some gorgeous, elegant white gowns with a classical theme.

House of Mobe was my personal favourite. The collection features dresses and separates, all of which are cut with a crisp, funky edge. I loved the dark red laser-cut leather pieces and the contrasts of white and orange.

Omar Mansoor is a Pakistani womenswear designer who is best known for his stand-out eveningwear which is infused with Eastern elements. Inspired by opera, the collection features velvet and lace gowns embellished with sequins. The range is dominated by jewel tones, particularly royal blue and black.

After the shows we were invited to the VIP after party where I got to meet the celebrity post pop artist Pandemonia, in all her latex and inflatable glory! The drinks kept flowing and I had a wonderful time chatting to lots of lovely people, designers, models and, of course, my friend Jo.
