London Fashion Week

I was lucky enough to get invited to the SS14 London Fashion Week at the weekend. The atmosphere around Somerset House was incredible. It was simply buzzing with fashionable people, everyone was excited and all the outfits on show were brilliant! I found it really inspiring that there was no dress code; everyone just wore what they wanted to wear, what they loved, and expressed their own unique sense of style. There was a large screen displaying all the catwalk shows for everyone to watch, press taking photos everywhere and music pumping out. To top it off, I received a plus-one ticket and got to experience it all with my best friend Jo, who you can see on the photos.

We were invited to the Fashion International Multi-Designer Shows, which showcase the up and coming fashion designers. We saw Gianni Lilliu, Dee Duce, House of Mobe, Luna Sky and Omar Mansoor.

Gianni Lilliu is a Sardinian designer who specialises in esquisitely tailored womenswear to suit and flatter the female form. The collection featured satin dresses and separates, dominated by blue, gold and black colours.

Dee Duce specialises in women's eveningwear and her designs are excllusively produced in the UK. The collection features silk, chiffon and lace gowns, all in in bright colours and often containing dramatic crystal  embellishments. The collection was dominated by bright pinks and oranges, and the models carried masks.

Luna Sky is a designer specialising in eveningwear, based in London. The collection featured some gorgeous, elegant white gowns with a classical theme.
House of Mobe was my personal favourite. The collection features dresses and separates, all of which are cut with a crisp, funky edge. I loved the dark red laser-cut leather pieces and the contrasts of white and orange.

Omar Mansoor is a Pakistani womenswear designer who is best known for his stand-out eveningwear which is infused with Eastern elements. Inspired by opera, the collection features velvet and lace gowns embellished with sequins. The range is dominated by jewel tones, particularly royal blue and black.

After the shows we were invited to the VIP after party where I got to meet the celebrity post pop artist Pandemonia, in all her latex and inflatable glory! The drinks kept flowing and I had a wonderful time chatting to lots of lovely people, designers, models and, of course, my friend Jo.
