July Favourites

Jo Malone Blackberry and Bay Candle
I have such a weakness for Jo Malone candles! They can be smelled all around the flat within minutes of being lit, they're such a treat! My favourite is Blackberry and Bay and I was lucky enough to receive this for my birthday from my lovely sister- a firm favourite this month!
Price: £40

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum
I took this with me to America and have been using it either every night or every other night for the last two months. You simply put it on after your toner and before you moisturiser as part of your night time routine. A little bit goes a long way and it sinks in very quickly. It's not an oil so it isn't greasy at all which I like. My skin looks so much clearer and brighter since I've been using this, it's made such a bit difference. It hydrates and heals my skin, as well as helping to clear my spots. It's a little miracle worker and worth every penny in my opinion. Yes the price tag is hefty but one bottle lasts absolutely ages.
Price: £43

It was Mum that got me hooked on this oil, and I can't thank her enough. We've always loved the Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil, it's absolutely amazing at taking off all makeup and is so gentle, but it certainly leaves a dent in your purse (£30 for makeup remover is definitely more than I'd want to pay) but I just convinced myself that it was worth it because no product had ever taken my makeup off so well, so gently and so quickly. Until now! L'Oreal's Miracle Cleansing Oil does exactly what the Shu Uemura Oil does, but at less than a third of the price (about £8 but often on offer in Supermarkets or Boots etc)! Plus it smells nicer! It removes all eye makeup really quickly, without stinging at all. I can't recommend this product enough, if there's one product you buy from this favourites list I'd strongly recommend it be this one. Ah-May-Zing.
Price: £7.99

Clarins Fake Tan
This is a summer staple for me. It's been my favourite fake tan for ages now and I will continue to buy it for as long as Clarins sell it! It's got added cocoa butter so is moisturising, which means that the tan doesn't cling to any dry patched on my legs, and it smells lovely. I always apply it with a mitt and never get any streaks. I usually apply it the day before I want to be tanned as it takes about 12 hours to develop fully. It's really natural looking and I always get lots of compliments when I wear it.
Price: £23

This has been my go to foundation for the last two months. I'd go as far as to say it's my favourite foundation of all time. It's a medium level coverage that leaves your skin looking fresh and glowing but not too dewy. It is so smooth, it literally makes your skin look flawless and lasts all day without needing touch ups (although I do wear primer underneath too). I've had lots of trouble trying to find the perfect foundation and have tried so so many, but this one is by far my favourite. I will stop trying others now, I've found THE ONE haha!
Price: £35.50

Clarins Lipstick in 19 Tropical Pink
This lipstick was part of Clarins's spring collection and it has been my most used lipstick this month by far. I'm always a little unsure about whether red lips suit me and usually a little too nervous to try and pull it off. However, this is the perfect shade for people like me, as it's a blue-toned pinky-red,  and it looks a lot softer than a bright red or bright pink. It's a statement lipstick but it isn't a scary statement, and it looks amazing with a tan. I really really like it, it makes my lips feel fuller and just generally makes me feel prettier!
Price: £19

Nars Orgasm Blusher
This is a bit of a cult product in the beauty world and I finally decided to see what all the hype was about a few months ago. It certainly lives up to it's reputation! This blusher really softens my face and makes me look really healthy. It's hard to describe the changes it makes, it just makes me look better! It's really subtle and natural, it's definitely the best blusher I've ever had and I will certainly be buying this again and again.
Price: £21.50

What do you think about my favourites? Have you tried or been tempted to buy any of these? What are your favourite products this month?

A Quick, Filling & Healthy Breakfast or Lunch

Poached Egg on Toast With Avocado, Cherry Tomatoes & Roasted Peppers

1 Slice of Toast (My favourite is M&S's Gluten Free 'Sliced White Boule' Bread)
1 Poached Egg
Dash of Balsamic Vinegar
Pinch of Salt
Half an Avocado
Handful of Cherry Tomatoes
Couple of Roasted Peppers
Black Pepper

*Added Extra- A sprinkle of pine nuts works well with this and is great to add in if you're having this for lunch*

This is one of my favourite breakfasts. Not only is it healthy, it's so easy and simple to make. Also, whenever I eat this I always feel full until lunch time (stopping any morning snacking!). I often have this at the weekend as a treat but it's so quick that it could be made during the week as well.

First of all, I make the little side salad by chopping some cherry tomatoes in half, chopping up half an avocado and getting some roasted peppers out of the jar (the antipasti jars of roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes etc are great to have in, I always throw some in a salad and they make a huge difference. The ones from Aldi are particularly good!). I am a black pepper fiend so I always put this on it. If you wanted to make a dressing for this (I would do if I was having it for lunch) I'd recommend White Wine Vinegar and Extra Virgin Olive Oil (with a ratio of Oil 2, Vinegar 1) plus salt and pepper.

Boil a pan of water with a splash of Balsamic Vinegar and a dash of salt in. I then stir the water around so that it's going in a circle motion before then carefully cracking my egg into the pan. This ensures that the white and the yoke stay together better. The balsamic vinegar and the salt just make it taste nicer but these are optional, and other vinegars such as white wine vinegar will also work well for this part.

As soon as the egg is in the water I start the timer on my phone to 2 and a half minutes to ensure that I have a runny yoke.

I then toast one piece of bread and sometimes I add a bit of butter, other times I don't, it just depends how I'm feeling.

The whole breakfast/ lunch is made in under 5 minutes and it really does keep you full for ages.

OOTD: Blocks of Monochrome

Top: Calvin Klein
Jeans: Topshop
Shoes: Minnetonka

I'm sorry for the break between this and my last post, it's been a crazy couple of months (in a good way!). I've been travelling around America with my new fiancĂ© and, coupled with my PhD, arranging engagement parties and now looking for a wedding venue, I don't think I've ever been so busy! I never wanted my blog to be a chore, as it's something I do for fun and enjoyment, so I've waited until I really wanted to post again rather than forcing it! I hope you don't mind, hello to all of you again, I appreciate you being patient. My posts are back and will be regular from now on!

On to today's outfit... Pastel coloured jeans are a spring/summer staple for me and these baby pink ones are my favourite at the moment. The Topshop Leigh Jeans come in so many different colours and patterns, and they're so comfortable, I must say I own quite a few of them!! Coloured jeans are easy to wear, especially teamed with a white or a black top (or a combination in this case!). Don't be scared of the colour drawing attention to your legs either, if you're not fond of your thighs like me, as any block colour, light or dark, keeps them looking slim, it's patterns that can make them look bigger!

Monochrome colours are something that everyone can wear, and they never go out of fashion. This top was a special purchase from Calvin Klein while I was over in the States, but I've seen a similar one in Warehouse this week if you fancy treating yourself! Last but not least, my shoes are from Minnetonka, which I, again, bought in America, but they do sell them over here in Urban Outfitters and other places. They are sooooo comfy! I always have trouble with flat shoes rubbing but these are one pair that don't!

Does anyone else love coloured jeans? Anyone else got a weakness for Topshop Leigh jeans or Minnetonka shoes?!
