I feel like the clothes I bought were very sensible/ grown up. I had a list of items that I wanted for Autumn/ Winter that could be worn with several outfits- investment pieces if you will. I spent most of the night in Topshop (the queue snaked all around the store!) and then just had time to quickly pop into River Island to get a lovely shirt. So, without further ado, here is what I bought....
White Top from Topshop (Sold out online but similar here)
This certainly fits the brief of a classic item that will go with everything. You can't have enough white or black tops in you wardrobe. This will look great with everything I own! The high neck is really in fashion right now so it brings the white blouse right up to the AW14 season.
A well-fitted black blazer is a wardrobe staple and this one fits like a dream. You can see me wearing it in my recent OOTN post here. I think I'll be getting A LOT of wear out of this!
Grey Blazer from Topshop
I wear a lot of black and white so this jacket will break up the monochrome nicely. And yes, I was torn between the grey and the black, but when in doubt, get both! I did have the student discount as my excuse after all!
Black Coat from Topshop
I've been after a smart black coat for absolutely ages now. I sized up in this as it was a little tight under the arms and I know that I'll be wearing jumpers underneath. I've worn it every day this week and I love it- even more than I did in the store. It instantly smartens up every outfit and it just goes with everything.
White Shirt from River Island
Another wardrobe staple! Again, everyone needs a white shirt in their wardrobe. This one is fashionably oversized, but I did size down in it as it was a little too big. The size down still looks oversized!
What do you think about my purchases? Did anybody else go to the Big Student Night In?
