Clarins BB Skin Perfecting Cream

BB Creams, or Beauty Balm to give them their full title, aim to provide moisturisation, SPF protection and sheer coverage alongside healing properties. They are quite similar to tinted moisturisers but they are better as they have many added skin care benefits.

When BB creams first came out I didn't think they were something that I would be interested in. I've always been a full makeup or no makeup kind of gal, but these last couple of months I've totally changed my mind and found myself using this BB cream a lot. The reason why I hadn't ever used a BB cream before was because I thought it would look too natural and didn't really see the point. However, there are days when I just want it to be low key and not to have to cover myself in a thick foundation. Days when I'm popping to the supermarket, or to IKEA or to the post office, or round to see my parents. It's perfect for those days wear you don't want to wear much makeup but you still want to look better and don't feel entirely comfortable wearing no makeup at all. For instance, I'm very conscious of my skin and it's many spots, and this just evens up the skin tone, gets rid of the redness and minimises the appearance of spots, allowing my skin to breathe and heal in the process.

The Clarins BB Cream evens skin tone, revitalises and protects the skin. It's a 3-in-1 product with lots of added skin care benefits. It's really easy and quick to apply; I just do it with my fingers like I do my moisturiser and it blends and sets really nicely. It smells gorgeous and is really refreshing to put on. It also has an SPF 25 which of course is really good for your skin, protecting it against those harmful UV rays and future wrinkles! Finally, it's oil-free, which is really important to me as any products, such as moisturiser, that contain oil always bring me out in spots.

It's so natural yet it makes quite a difference! It makes me look healthier, a little more tanned (in a very subtle and natural way) and my skin look more glowing. It achieves all this whilst also looking like you're not wearing makeup at all, which is pretty impressive!

There are four shades in the Clarins BB Cream: 00 Fair, 01 Light, 02 Medium and 03 Dark. I use shade 00 Fair and it's a nice colour match for my skin.

For my complete minimal makeup look,  I use:
1. Clarins BB Cream as the base.
2. Clarins Instant Concealer under my eyes and on any big spots.
3. No 7 Brown Eyeliner
4. Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara
5. Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors

I would definitely recommend this BB Cream to anyone, I'm really, really impressed with it!

Price: £30* (Available to buy here or at any Clarins Counter).

What do you think about BB Creams?

  2. This would be great for holiday day times when you don't want to wear foundation but you don't want bare skin either.
