FOTD: Long-Wearing Makeup and A Statement Lip

This is the makeup that I wore to a party recently. The party started around lunch time, so I needed my makeup to last a long time. I went for a strong black eyeliner but kept my eyeshadow and blusher fairly natural, to compliment the statement lip.

Base

Primer: Benefit Porefessional
- This is my favourite primer at the moment. It's quite thick and provides a smooth, even layer under  foundation. It always keeps my makeup in place for ages.

Foundation: Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation
- I've been using this foundation for the last couple of months and have a full review coming up soon. It's a medium-heavy coverage, quite similar to Nars Sheer Glow in that it reflects the light beautifully but is not too dewy. With the primer underneath and powder on top, this base lasted well into the night without needing a top up!

Foundation Brush: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush
- I always use this Real Techniques Brush to apply my foundation as it creates a very soft and even finish. I've had it ages and it's still as good as new, despite all it's washes!

Concealer: Clarins Instant Concealer
- One of my holy grail makeup products! This concealer is just awesome! It brightens up your whole eye area, covering up your bags and doesn't emphasise wrinkles but softens them. It's a medium-heavy coverage so it covers up spots well but it doesn't look cakey or obvious. Perfect. If I had to choose one makeup product to recommend the most from this whole post it would be this concealer.

Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light
- This powder is great for setting my foundation. It really softens my face and adds a lovely, light finish to it. There is a good reason why these Hourglass powders are so hyped up, they completely deserve their fantastic reputation.

Powder Brush: The Body Shop Face and Body Brush
- This is a great brush for whizzing powder around your face to set your foundation. It's nice and big but also soft. I've had this one for at least 5 years and it washes really well too.

Colour

Bronzer: Nars Laguna
- I swept this bronzer lightly over my face and then put slightly more under my cheek bones for contouring. I wanted a soft, natural look so I used it quite sparingly. Nars Laguna is a cult bronzer and it's a really nice shade. It can be used lightly, for a slight healthy glow, or can be built up for more of a tan.

Bronzer Brush: Sephora Pro Bronzer Brush #48
- I bought this brush when I was over in America earlier this year and I've been really impressed with it. It's nice and thick so is brilliant for sweeping bronzer over your face. Next time I'm abroad I will definitely be picking up more Sephora brushes! They seems like high end brushes but without the massive price tag.

Blusher: Nars Orgasm
- This is another holy grail makeup product for me! It's a beautiful, soft, natural yet very pigmented colour that lasts all day and blends nicely. It is, without a doubt, the best blusher I have ever owned. Again, it can be used lightly for a touch of colour in your cheeks or can be built up for a more statement blush. Either way the colour payoff is fantastic and it never goes patchy.

Blusher Brush: Real Techniques Blush Brush
- I like how big this blusher brush is compared to other brands. I simply swirl it around the apples of my cheeks and then lightly sweep it up to the edges of my face. A good tip is to leave about a thumbs width between the edge of your nose and the apple of your cheek to start the blusher from, in order for it to look natural.

Highlighter: Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
- This is my favourite highlighter. I've been using it for years and years. It adds a subtle, yet noticeable glow without any tacky shimmer. I applied it to the tops of my cheeks, down the centre of my nose, above my brow bones and on my cupid's bow.

Highlighter Brush: Real Techniques Setting Brush
- This is the perfect little brush for highlighter as you don't want a big shiny face, but a natural glow when it catches the light.

Eyes

Eye Primer - Clarins Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base
- I need to apply an eye primer underneath my eye makeup to ensure that it stays put all day and so that the eyeshadow doesn't crease. This one works really well and is a nice, neutral nude colour.

Eyeshadow: Clarins Cream-To-Powder Eyeshadows in 04 Rosewood and 02 Nude Pink
- I've raved about these eyeshadows since they came out and I still continue to use them regularly. They are so pigmented and easy to blend, plus the shades are so beautiful!

Mascara: Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara
- This mascara creates thick, curling lashes that aren't too over-the-top but certainly make your eyes stand out. It lasts all day and never makes your lashes clumpy or bitty. It feels very high end and classy.

Eyeliner: No 7 Stay Perfect Amazing Eyes Pencil In Black
- I find that the No 7 eyeliners last ages and are easy to smudge into place before they set for the day. When you get one, you need to sharpen it first and let the end fall off because it's rubbish initially, but from the first sharpen they're really good.

Lips and Finishing Touch

Lipstick: Mac Pink Nouveau Lipstick
- You can't beat MAC for statement lipsticks, they have every shade under the sun! This bright pink is one of my absolute favourites. It's a bold colour but not unwearable. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's not used to such a bright lip colour as it's quite soft.

Makeup Setting Spray: Clarins Fix Makeup Spray
- This ensures that my makeup lasts aaaaages! It's a light mist that I put on at the end of my makeup and it holds it in place a bit like hairspray does!

What do you think about this makeup look? Do you like or want to try any of these products?
