John Frieda Precision Foam Colour Hair Dye: Dark Chocolate Brown

I dye my hair on a regular basis using the John Frieda Hair Dye. I've used quite a few of the different colours but my favourite one is Dark Chocolate Brown. It's a rich, natural looking shade that makes my hair look much healthier and more vibrant. I find the John Frieda Hair Dye easier, less messy and more gentle than other hair dyes so it's a brand that I will stick with, and have stuck with for about 4 years now. I once tried the L'Oreal Foam Hair Dye but I had a bad reaction to it and it stung my scalp, so I feel safer using the John Frieda one as well. The photos above are taken from when I was at London Fashion Week, and I'd dyed my hair the night before so it's quite an accurate representation of the colour.

It's super simple to apply. The packet contains gloves (which actually fit on your hands unlike other brands that provide ones that resemble plastic bags!), two mixers for the hair dye and then a treatment conditioner to use after and for the following weeks. After pouring the hair dye into the big bottle and mixing it together, you simple squeeze a tennis ball size amount on to your hand and massage it into your roots. You then leave your roots to absorb the dye for 10 minutes, before then applying the dye to the rest of your hair. This ensures that your roots will match the rest of your hair colour as they need longer to turn. You leave your hair for a further 10-15 minutes to let it develop, and then wash it off, followed by the conditioning treatment. Because its a foam rather than a liquid it's not very messy, and any dye that does go on me comes off when wiped with a damp cloth.

Easy peasy lemon squeezey. It's a nice colour that lasts about a month depending on how often you wash your hair, I'd definitely recommend it!

Has anyone else used John Frieda Hair Dyes? What other shades would you recommend? What products do you use to keep your colour looking fresh and long lasting?

  2. Such a lovely colour! I've never used a foam dye before, mostly because I rarely dye my hair and when I do I tend to go to the salon but foam dyes seem so much easier than the mess and hassle of a regular dye!

  3. I love these dyes they are fantastic, the foam makes it so easy to apply- definitely will be returning back for more colours xxx
