A Different Kind Of Night Out

Sometimes it's fun to try something completely different...

I'm always on the look out for new things to try for celebrating special occasions, whether they be birthdays, or just get-togethers with friends, and All-In Kitchen is something that's definitely fun and different. Now, I know that poker isn't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm no huge gambler myself, but I've spent evenings like this on two separate occasions now- once to celebrate my mum's birthday and once to celebrate my friend's birthday- and really enjoyed them. They're really good fun as it's like having a meal but playing a game at the same time- and I love games! Plus, in this one you don't actually wager any money during the poker game, you play for your meal!

So what is it?

All-In Kitchen is a pop-up restaurant that combines a gourmet meal with the fun of playing poker. You play poker to determine how much you pay for your meal. It was a huge success when it came to London and now it's going on a UK tour.

The way it works is that you play three hands of poker, and then the amount that you pay for your meal depends on how many chips you have left at the end of the three rounds. But, in order to make sure that it's never going to be too expensive (sadly I always seem to lose all my chips early on!) then the most you have to pay for the three course meal anyway is £10 including a cocktail. Bargain!

It's a nice looking menu as well. Some of the dishes include 'Royal Flush of King Crab Thermidor', 'Queen Scallops accompanied by Salt Baked Swede and Bacon Marmalade, ' 4 of a Kind Lamb Chops, Rump, Kidney and Shoulder With a Rosemary Jus' and for dessert '2 Pair of Pear Tarte Tatin, Pear Caramel and Ice Cream'. Yum!

All-In Kitchen is currently touring the UK at the moment as a pop-up restaurant so keep an eye out for if it comes to a city near you!

What do you think? Do you fancy going along?
