Flowers: Iflorist (here)
Mini Cactus: Wilko
Orchid and Large Cactus: Both IKEA (and the pots are too)
Having flowers and plants all around my flat makes me feel calmer and more relaxed. I love looking around and seeing them whilst I'm chilling out or working from home, it makes the place seem much fresher and cleaner somehow.
I think flowers and plants instantly brighten up a home and they are such a cheap and easy way to add a nice touch to the decor. Also, flowers often smell really nice, creating a more pleasant environment. I particularly love the smell of lavender and jasmine, and the lilies in this bunch photographed here smell divine! These flowers from iflorist.co.uk are gorgeous aren't they?! The exact bunch that I got is here if you want to check them out.
I've also recently bought several cacti and an orchid, both of which are brilliant plants for someone like me as they're so low maintenance. They only need watering every now and again, and they're pretty hard to kill, lasting forever! Finally, I also regularly buy a basil plant from the supermarket. They last about a month and do need watering quite regularly, but it's totally worth it! It smells lovely and is great to add to any tomato-based dished as fresh basil always tastes so much better than dried!
So, I urge you to treat yourself to a little plant or bunch of flowers this week as I bet it will put a smile on your face!
