Just a quick outfit of the day for you featuring my new denim-look midi skirt!
Top: Miss Selfridge (similar here)
Skirt: c/o White Stuff (here)
Boots: New Look (similar here)
Life is quite busy right now, as my job as a lecturer is quite demanding (but I absolutely love it so I wouldn't change anything about it!) and I'm in the final few months of wedding planning - eeek! So, yes, unfortunately I've not been able to blog as much as I'd like to recently. I definitely want to keep it up though, just bear with me if it's only one post a week at the moment. Does anyone else find balancing time for life, work and blogging challenging? If so, it's be great to hear how you manage it- or just that I'm not the only one haha!
So, this outfit... it's one that I would typically wear to work on a more special day (i.e. if I'm presenting etc) because it's quite smart and chic. However, it is also one that I would wear after work for a couple of drinks, or on a date night with my fiance. The skirt is so versatile as it can be dressed up with heels or boots like I have done, but also dressed down with trainers and a tee / chunky knit (which is how I plan on wearing it when I'm sightseeing in Edinburgh next week! Woop woop!). It's a nice stretchy material and has elasticated waist band (winner!) so it's really comfy too- hence why it's good for those date night meals!
I love the lace-up detail on this top. It makes it really current and just much more interesting than a normal plain black top. Miss Selfridge have some really nice tops in right now so I'd definitely recommend having a look on there site if you like this kind of style.
Finally, the shoes aren't the most practical (being light grey suede and having a stiletto heel- haha!) but I love them anyway as they go with everything and, again, are more interesting than your standard ankle boot. Actually, I'm a bit obsessed with grey right now- I keep buying lots of grey items for my home as well as clothes and bags. Grey just goes with everything and looks really stylish in my opinion. Plus, I love minimalism (on a huge decluttering, spring clear-out rampage as we speak!) and it breaks up all the black and white items that I own!
Hope you like the outfit, let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
Also, how do you manage your time between life / jobs and blogging?!?!
